Vinted Buyer Protection calculator

Every Vinted purchase adds a Buyer Protection fee on top of the item price, paid by the buyer. Enter a price to see the fee, what the buyer pays in total, and what the seller gets.

Buyer Protection rate
Starts at 5% + 70p, which many listings show. Vinted’s UK price list says it’s usually 3% + 30p to 8% + 80p and varies by listing, so edit it to match your checkout. Checked October 2026.

What it means if you sell

You keep the price you list at, but buyers compare what they pay in total. On a £10 item the fee adds about 12%; on a £100 item, nearer 6%, because the fixed part counts for less. If you want an item to land under a round number at checkout, like £30 rather than £32.20, use the listing price above.

Bundles carry one fee rather than one per item, so the fixed part is paid once. That makes a bundle discount a cheap way to win a sale: the buyer saves on the fee as well as on your price.

Your own costs are a separate question. The Vinted fee calculator shows what you made once what you paid and postage come off.

Questions

How much is the Vinted Buyer Protection fee?
Vinted’s UK price list says it’s usually 3% to 8% of the item price plus 30p to 80p, VAT included, and it varies by listing. Many listings work out at about 5% plus 70p, so a £20 item costs the buyer about £1.70 more. The exact fee is shown at checkout.
Who pays Vinted Buyer Protection, the buyer or the seller?
The buyer. It’s added on top of the item price at checkout, so the seller still receives the full price they listed at.
Is postage included in Buyer Protection?
No. Postage is a separate charge the buyer pays on top of the item price and the Buyer Protection fee.
Can you avoid the Buyer Protection fee?
Not on purchases made through Vinted’s checkout, and paying outside Vinted breaks its rules and leaves you with no protection if the item doesn’t arrive. Buying several items from one seller as a bundle means one fee instead of several fixed parts.
What does Buyer Protection cover?
A refund if the item doesn’t arrive, arrives damaged, or is significantly not as described, provided you report it within the window Vinted gives after delivery. It also covers secure payment and Vinted’s support with disputes.
